About the role

The highly successful English Language Teaching Division of Oxford University Press is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Area Coordinator to join our successful and driven international sales team. The position will be based in Istanbul.

The purpose of this job is to ensure and oversee the effective marketing of OUP ELT materials to educational institutes in the specific area given with a view to maximising sales.

Responsibilities of the roles will include:

  1. Collaborating with Regional Coordinator and Sales Manager to execute OUPT’s value-added growth strategy in a specific distribution area.
  2. Managing a team of Educational Consultants to increase OUP market share by maximising sales opportunities of Print, Digital and Assessment products.
  3. Planning and attending presentations/workshops for teachers and ELT professionals in order to promote ELT materials and gain/ maintain adoptions.
  4. Developing regular contact with schools, institutions and internal and external key individuals to secure adoptions, maintain OUP profile and ensure availability and usability of OUP product.
  5. Forecasting annual turnover and gratis budgets, provides insight for annual individual goal setting.
  6. Knowing well OUP and competing products so as to ensure the best fit to customer needs and minimise competing adoptions.
  7. Supporting team to meet projected sales, and gratis budget.
  8. Supporting others in the team so as to increase individual performance when presenting OUP products or visiting schools.
  9. Acting accordingly and feel responsible for the Ethics, Compliance and Health and Safety policies of OUP.
  10. Supporting the team to successfully implement multi-layered and long-term growth strategies..

About you
  • University degree in English Language (Teaching, Literature, Translation, etc)
  • Sales and/or education sector experience
  • Commercial awareness 
  • Open to teamwork
  • Quality and result-driven
  • Good communication skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Computer literate in MS office
  • Digital literacy
  • Motivation to travel frequently
  • A full clean driving license
  • People management experience is preferred
