The English Language Teaching (ELT) Division is a global leader in the provision of multimedia English language teaching, learning, and assessment materials. Operating globally, it reaches millions of teachers and students each year to support the development of English language proficiency. 


About the role

The purpose of the job is to promote the full range of ELT titles in education institutions so that country and divisional targets are met and the market share of the local distributor/the OUP group is increased. The position requires individuals who either reside in or are willing to relocate to Adana, Gaziantep, or Mersin.

The responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Closely monitors turnover target for each account and keeps track of this throughout the sales process, in collaboration with the distributors.
  • Coordinates activities with those of local distributors/agents/booksellers as appropriate to motivate said booksellers and ensure the most efficient service possible to educational institutes and/or individuals.
  • Plans and organizes educational institutes visiting and setting up promotional events within specific ELT seasons and the limited time available to ELT professionals.
  • Prepares and presents presentations/workshops for teachers and ELT professionals in order to promote ELT materials and gain/maintain adoptions.
  • Develops regular contact with schools, institutions, and key individuals there in to secure adoptions, maintain the OUP profile, and ensure the availability and usability of OUP products.
  • Completes reports as requested to provide feedback on ELT materials and the effectiveness of promotional activities to assist in sales and marketing strategies.
  • Provides OUP Central Office in İstanbul with thorough and up-to-date school records to maximize the effectiveness of the OUP database.
  • Undertakes relevant administrative tasks as necessary to ensure the running of promotional activities of Sales Dept.
  • Reports to the Regional Coordinator to provide feedback on the effectiveness of ELT materials and promotional activities to assist with sales and marketing strategies.
  • Sets sales targets for each institution and tracking them throughout the sales process in collaboration with distributors.
  • Complies with OUP’s Ethics, Compliance, and Occupational Safety policies.

About you
  • Having a university degree in English Language (Teaching, Literature, Translation, etc)
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships using a consultative approach.
  • Experience in English language teaching/classroom teaching and/or sales sector.
  • Having a driver's license and being an active driver.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to focus on quality and results.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Open to working in a team environment.
  • Having strong organizational and time management skills
  • A positive approach to change, being flexible and adaptable.
  • Computer literate in MS Office programs.
  • Motivation to travel frequently.
